Last revision: April 26, 2009
Preamble
We the people of Vile Gaming, in order to conduct ourselves in a respectful manner, secure what freedoms we have left, promote our cause, stay faithful to the organization, provide a unique experience, insure our safety, and remain prosperous, do acknowledge and uphold this code for the Vile Gaming community.

Article VI: Hacking policy
Section 1; Definition of hacking
Hacking is the act of using an external program to gain unfair advantages, boost numbers, or deceive others, while playing a Blizzard game through the Battle.net service. Hacks that provide the user with critical information that others typically cannot obtain are looked down upon and offenders of this will be punished accordingly.
Section 2; Faith
We strive to do our best in preventing and catching the use of hack programs by our users. To achieve this we have set aside strict measurements in order to ensure the safest environment for everyone. We enact the use of certain DNS, IP, and email tracking systems in order to maintain our standards. With that said, if your DNS, IP, or email is linked to an already flagged account, at any point in time, it will be marked in our system and we will be notified. Once marked, expect action(s) to be taken promptly. Consequently, if you attempt to smurf, or are proven to be smurfing, while flagged under another account, then you will only worsen your punishment.
We acknowledge that that there are rare cases where innocent users are flagged, but that is a lesser price to pay for the greater good of this community. Collateral damage does and will happen. We trust that the community respects our final decisions and that we end all cases with only the highest quality of proof and/or reasoning.

Section 3; Zero tolerance
Anyone that has an IP that matches exactly that of any flagged user will get the associated flag automatically. So do not give out your password. Do not try to report league matches for another player. And do not make accounts for other users. You have been warned, so venture into hell at your own risk. If a player's account is caught hacking and has your IP on it for whatever reason, then you're fucked. Regardless of whether you're using a proxy (which we frown upon anyways), at a friend's house, have siblings living with you, or even play at a LAN center, you're still fucked.
Section 4; Punishments
Offenders are dealt with based on the 3 strike system described below.
Users with the Hacker flag cannot participate in any leagues.
Strike 1) User is issued the Hacker flag and can repent after 4 months.
Strike 2) User is issued the Hacker flag and can repent after 5 months.
Strike 3) User is issued the Hacker flag and can no longer repent. No exceptions will be made no matter the circumstance(s).
Repenting is the process of publicly apologizing for hacking and awaiting the admins' decision. Repented users can automatically have their Repented flag removed after 3 months of being clean. If you are caught hacking on a smurf account, while being flagged already, then that will count as an automatic strike and the appropriate punishment will be appended.

Article VII: Respect
All other things being equal, we can/will give preferential treatment to users who have been with us longer, which is reflected by their Veteran rank. It is a simple recognition of the quality and contributions of these users. Longevity is a prized commodity around these parts, just as loyalty is a sought after characteristic in our users.
Do not forget that we can/will demolish little kids all day, and every day, because they come here with the mentality that they can do whatever they want to whomever they want right from the start, which is what most are used to doing at other sites. That attitude will not work here. That is a promise we maintain. The true veterans are the users who have consistently shown respect and faith in our community, to our users, and to our admins. That is why they are still here. Show them the respect they deserve and some day you will reach their status.
A) First theory. This policy can mean that user who is of a high Veteran rank and getting away with a few minor transgressions in conduct with just a warning, or even unnoticed. While at the same time a user who is of the lower rank will be humiliated, or worse. Harsh? That is what we aim for. Unfair? We try to be.
But that is the way life is. Live, learn, and go on with it.
B) Second theory. This also means you should rethink your actions before insulting or flaming the user with the rank that you can only dream of achieving. If the user has been with us that long, chances are that you are the one being an idiot.
When in doubt, a good rule of thumb is that some fights are just not worth fighting.

Article VIII: This is Spartan's house
And you are all my guests. I will make all attempts to treat everyone with due respect and to accommodate everyone's wishes as far as reasonably possible. But, this is a private site. VG is not funded by any outside organizations. This means I run the site the way I see fit. I am not obligated to observe anyone's notions of "free speech" or even "fairness". I try of course, and that is why I am respected by many despite my minor flaws, and you are always free to give me your 2 cents. But, I have my limits. If I do not like you for any reason, then I will simply do with you as I please. If I am really pissed off, then well.. let me just say that you will not like me when I am angry. This is my house. Consider this your first and only warning.
Closing
Your access to this website is a "privilege", and not a "right". VG admins reserve the power to lock or flag your account, which may limit your access to one or more features of the site, at any time for reasons that include, but are not necessarily limited to, any of the previously mentioned articles.
