[NASTL] Qualifier Day 1 [Update]
Comments (0)By Wunder on Jan 07, '12
Keep up with the players through both the bracket as well as the stream!
Ed: Hey guys, it's 7AM here in Singapore, so I'm going to pass the torch to NKExquisite to take over writing duties. Please keep watching and supporting Vile Gaming in this tournament! - Wunder
UPDATE #3:
In round 3, Vile Gaming will be up against the Taiwanese the Gamanian Bears led by their well known Zerg player, Sen.
Chance (Z) starts off the series for Vile while Slam (Z) starts off for Gama. Unfortunately this series isn't being streamed so stay tuned for more updates.
Slam starts things off with a win over Chance to put Gama up 1-0.
Domorin will be coming up next for Vile looking to take down Slam.
Slam stays alive and knocks off Domorin to put Gama up 2-0.
Some discussion between DdoRo and State as to who's PvZ is stronger at the moment and it looks like State will be looking to continue his hot-streak. Let's see if he can take down Slam and get Vile on the scoreboard.
State uses some defensive macro play coupled with zealot harass and hits right before Slam gets out Brood Lords to take the game and put Vile on the board! 1-2!
Gama puts up Croly (P) and takes down State in a close PvP and Vile is again in a 1-3 hole. It will be up to Illusion (T) now to pull off the win if Vile is going to advance to the next round.
Illusion keeps Vile in it with a clutch win over Croly to narrow the deficit to 2-3.
Illusion goes for a marine/tank/viking/hellion based all-in but cannot pull it off vs the Protoss player from Team Gama Bears and with that loss, Vile is eliminated from the NASTL Qualifiers 2-4 and will now focus on tomorrow's IPL Team League matches.

TLAF Map Contest TLOpen Results
Comments (1)By Wunder on Dec 12, '11
Last weekend, Teamliquid.net held another TLOpen, this time focusing on promoting a custom map pool and featuring a $2000 prize pool. Vile gaming launched forward, keen to prove themselves once more on the global stage.
Ryan 'vileState' Visbeck, managed to not only hold up the Vile torch, but was also the last foreigner in the entire tournament. Fighting his way through a couple of team kills as well as slaying a Korean or two, State ended up in the Ro8 pit against the eventual runner-up, MVPGuineaPig. I managed to sit down with State after his run through the tournament and we discussed his performance throughout the year as well as custom maps and of course, the TL Open.
After the interview you'll find the full results of vileState as well as all the other Vile members that took part.
vileState Interview
Wunder: Hi vileState, how are you today?
vileState: I'm doing okay!
Wunder: Great, let's talk about the recent TLAF Map Contest TL Open just last week. Could you take us through your run?
State: Sure thing. For the first few rounds, I didn't meet anyone particularly notable. After that, I won over vileSyNc, vileChAnCe, oGsJookTo, and ZeNexSikari before losing to MVPGuineaPig 2-0.

TeSPA: Trouble in Texas
Comments (2)By Wunder on Nov 01, '11
Hi guys, Wunder here with another recap on the latest Vile sightings! Last weekend, vileState and vileHawk participated in TeSPA's 3rd Starcraft Showdown, where they competed in a Ro64 double elimination tournament against some of America's best players!
The tournament boasted a $3000 prize pool and had renowned player EG.Incontrol flown in to co-cast the tournament with Axeltoss.
While vileHawk won the last showdown, it was State who stepped up to the plate and grabbed the first place trophy, while Hawk himself took 4th. I had the opportunity to sit down with State after he came back from his win and to pick his brain about the tournament as well as his future!
After the interview, you'll find the total results of our players as well as the bracket.
vileState Interview
Wunder: Hey vileState, how are you feeling today?
vileState: Happy and a little tired. How about yourself?
Wunder: I'm awesome, thanks for asking. So you just came back from your TeSPA win, how prepared were you going into the tournament?
State: Not very. I've done a lot of traveling over the past few weeks and had midterms recently, so I wasn't able to put in as much time as I'd like to.

The Vile family reduces its membership
Comments (2)By NKspartan on Oct 29, '11
It is with great regret today that I have the duty of announcing that Team Vile has released a few members of its management/players -- for reasons undeclared.
The players below have all proven that they have the talent needed to succeed in a competitive esports scene, such as StarCraft. They've all been with the team for over a year now each. While it is unfortunate we have to see them go, we are confident they will be able to find a new home elsewhere very soon.
All people behind all four of these names will never be forgotten within our organization; the time, memories, and conversations they helped create and share with us are a thing to cherish.
As always, the team and more information about us can be accessed at TeamVile.net.
Aaron "Kang" Rucinski (manager)
Kang has been with the team since a few months after its inception. He was responsible for helping to acquire a players to our roster and also oversaw some the team's participation in team leagues. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.

[MLG] Vile at Orlando
Comments (2)By Wunder on Oct 27, '11
Hi guys, with MLG Orlando over, here's a quick recap of how Vile Gaming did as well as an interview with vileDdoro, the first Vile member to make it into Pool Play!
vileDdoro Interview
Wunder:Hey vileDdoro, how are you doing today?
vileDdoro: good good
Wunder: Awesome, so let's talk about MLG Orlando: how prepared were you going into that event?
Ddoro: I didnt really prepare much for MLG Orlando, I mostly played ladder for practice as usual, I barely played custom games with others.
Wunder: I see, so Orlando was your second MLG event right? Did you expect to do as well as you did?
Ddoro: Yes, this was my second MLG, I was confident about making it into pool play as I have trouble with koreans but I only faced Inori on the way there and I’m confident against foreigners.
Wunder: Let's talk about your Orlando run as a whole, what was your toughest match?
Ddoro: My toughest match was against Inori in the open bracket winners final, who is known for his pvp match up beating MC and HuK at IPL3.
Wunder: Yeah, everyone should go check try and find the series once the replays for Orlando are released - it was a serious nail biter! Looking forward, what are your plans for MLG Providence? Are you planning to participate and how well do you think you do?
Ddoro: Yes, I will be going to Providence. Like I said, as long as I don't meet Korean pros in early rounds, I'm very confident that I can do pretty well, and I will be practicing hard.

[ESEA] Updates and the Playoffs!
Comments (2)By Wunder on Sep 08, '11
Hey guys, Wunder here with an update on Vile Gaming's current standing with the ESEA SC2 season. After a good few weeks, we're in the playoffs with a record of 12-4 in the pennant race.
The first match was against Complexity Gaming, and we managed to pull out a 3-1 win! I managed to grab vileSyNc (formerly vileFlashback) for a quick sitdown on how his games went, as well as the next match against CheckSix Gaming!
Wunder Hey vileSync! How are you doing today?
vileSyNc: Feeling pretty good
Wunder: Awesome, so vile recently made it into the ESEA playoffs! How do you think you'll do?
SyNc: Hopefully we do well because playing esea has been rough since aaron is a noob and has the worst luck reporting every match. We also accidentally got marked dead and had to complain to the admins, so hoping that we didn't complain for nothing
Wunder: Haha, that's unfortunate! Well, you've already played your first match vs Complexity Gaming, right?
SyNc: Yep, we won 3-1 I believe. We play check six next.

Double Trouble: PsY's Video of the Week x2!
Comments (2)By Wunder on Sep 04, '11
Hey guys! So... I kind of slacked off last week - I'm sorry! This week I'm bringing you the latest video of the week, plus the other interview I did last week that I was too lazy to edit. The first that you'll see is about the revolutionary new technique sweeping Zergkind, the stacked drone attack. Essentially a technique that is supposed to destroy pylon wall offs in a matter of seconds, the drone attack technique was found on a Korean forum and immediately spread throughout the Starcraft 2 world.
The next video, after the jump, is our beloved PsY commentating a match vs the infamous CombatEX, a match that happened while PsY was streaming, but had to black out his stream for fear of Wasif 'CombatEX' Khan stream cheating, something that he himself has admitted to doing multiple times. It's a fun series nonetheless and PsY throws CombatEX about verbally and in the game. Have a look!
Finally, in the CombatEX interview, PsY mentioned he was casting the PTSL, his first live casting event! Day 3 is going on right now, and PsY casted Day 1 and 2, so please go check them out!

MLG Raleigh Recap
Comments (3)By NKexquisite on Aug 31, '11
Hey now! In case you were incapacitated this past weekend and haven't yet heard the news, MLG Raleigh went down and Team Vile made another great run through another difficult and deep tournament. Representing Vile at MLG Raleigh were vileState, vileSpanshwa, vileHasHe, and vileIllusion. vileSyNc was also scheduled to attend but was unfortunately unable to attend due to Hurricane Irene (you might have heard about it). Despite a round one team-kill and some tough second round matches, Team Vile bounced back to make an impressive run much like the run they made just 3 weeks ago at MLG Anaheim.
