Word is that apparently it has entered the play test phase and employees have gotten a hands-on experience with it or awaiting their turn.

We already know this is going to be another MMO (confirmed by all the "next-generation MMO" postings on Blizz's job page), and it was mentioned in an interview by someone from Blizz that the new project is a whole different universe.

No clue.. my friend won't even tell me, but he did get a chance to play it in a very early phase a few weeks ago.  Needless to say, he said it was awesome.

No, dude, haha.  There's a completely brand new franchise Blizzard has been working on.  It's supposed to be another MMO.  Also, according to my friend and other sources I've read, alongside the new franchise there's also a 2nd secret game.
