Before you read this thinking, I'm self centered, and I consider my self as the shit, I don't. I consider my self as a fair sig maker, but being fair I can teach some tricks. :) I made this to help a few friends out and anyone who is willing to read.

Focal Point: (I'll define it) a point/place in art that you will naturally draw your eyes too.

PS baiscs:
The tools on the left, just play with them (too lazy too explain, ask me for any details on them).
There should be a panel on the right, labeled "layers". Kinda different from art in real life, layers stack. Layers create/add depth.
On the PS menu (tab on your keep board), you there is a tab called filter, in fillter there are a lot of different options, (there are 100s of things you can do with em so I ain't going to explain all of them), just play with em. :)

Brushes: On the left side of PS there is a pic that looks like a brush click on it and paint way. You can download different kinds for brushes (I get mine from Deviant Art), just google Photoshop Brushes. On your menu (tab) window, click brushes and a panel will appear. With this pannel you can fuck around with the brush settings.

Zoom: look deeper in the picture.

Eye dropper: takes a color from a picture.

Gradiant/paint Bucket tool: paint the picture 1 or 2 different colors.

Smudge: you can push parts of an image out you can use the brush panel to make it look better.




Render:
Renders/C4Ds/Stocks pictures or images.

Render: a cut out piece of art
Exaple:


C4D: Cinema 4 Dimension
Lights/Shapes/Objects used to help you enchant the focal point. (make sure they dont become the focal point).
Example:

(I'm just starting to use them, ask Deify how you use em). :O

Stocks: High quality images.
Images you mess around with.

Get renders and C4Ds at planetrenders.net (or make em).




A sig has to be appealing some thing you just notice and like.
I standard sig will have most/all these elements:
Depth
Lighting
Substance
Flow
Color

Example:

I have all elements (some weaker than others).

Not all sigs need all the elements
Example:

This is doesn't have Lighting or Flow, but its still an amazing sig.


Blending: makes colors or image ezier to look at.

Text: text is ment to show what you are trying to represent, try to keep it close to the render but not get in the way of the focal point.

Now to pick on some kids I hate:
The last thing you wana do is make a sig look like a piece of paper pasted on a background.
EXAMPLE:

This sig was made by pasting a render, copying it 2 times lowering the color on 2, lowing the size on 1 render. I find this just hard to look at, I had to hunt for a focal point. LOL

EXAMPLE2:

This sig was made by painting the sig purely 1 color. Using abstract brushes or C4Ds made the white at the back. Copying the render once, lowering 1s size. And lowering bother there opacity's. This sig isn't hard to look at, its just doesn't look attractive.
