What is a good counter to someone that goes mass temps? I'm not talking about drops. I can hold off toss fairly well in terms of dodging drops and getting to mid game where I have guards and can pump. My problem is dealing with mass temps. If I go mass guards, 6-8 temps take out my entire army and that's 4k+ gas down the drain. If I got ground, same thing, storm just wipes out my army. Cloud does nothing for me either. Any ideas?

mass hatches will let u pump a shitload...zerg can pump faster than toss can temp... aside from that... spread ur gards... at ur base have mass sunks..that holds off toss nicely... and u can mass ling...so if they storm they risk hurting ther own...and lings are so cheap..u can mass them easily if u have enough hatches....

storm is cheap... and a good 5-6 storms can kill of a max'd zerg.  i've played ppl with literally... 20 temps in their base turtling... plus a few reavers and arbs its hard to break.

I don't play BW and as clover was saying, it's hard to break through 10-15 temps with goons and cannons.

I don't beleive that there is any good ways to break this other than just simply pumping hard and mircoing what you have at the same time to try aviod losing as few as possible units per storm.  Doing this however still will take a very long time to break them as my expiriences have told me, often longer than my patience.  Also a good idea is to try destroy their main as soon as possible with muta or guards which will slow their gas supply significantly, and seeing they will be using all gas expensive units they will eventually run out of it providing you pump non stop and make them use gas faster than they can mine it.

Yeah i couldn't think of any, only flanking guards works well.. i hate getting to the stage where the toss just turtles and cannons everywhere, it turn's into a huge long game, u needa find the time where u can max pure guards + devourers and they rock the game ~ but it's hard 2 get PURE guards + devs because if u get stormed etc ur gas get's fucked + u needa keep pumpn other unit's to hold ur choke ~

Send groups of mutas to many different angles from where you gonna attack, make into gaurds and attack - have 1-2 devs with each group of gaurds to hold off any sairs for long enough to kill buildings/choke.  If no reavers makes mass lings rally pointed at ur choke for nonstop ling attacking (storm sucks vs lings cuz they are on the toss men too) If they do have reavers you really need lots of gaurds SPREAD OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.  Get gas exp to afford this.

If you wanna try you can also go gaurds with lurks and hydes in swarm.  Hydra does this the best!

Massss Zerglings is the best + Guardian, plus zerglings save you alot of gas

if you get to the point where hes only storming your guards + lings
pretty much means they are in defense mode
make gas expo, trust me it helps alot

another thing
mass hatchery's in the middle spot
and pump via the middle, you will rape them no matter what

another thing
once you get gas expo and your gas is high, you can pump guards right?

if templars is your main concern try to get 3-4 groups of guardians and attack from every side, right side left , and maybe 1 or 2 at their entrance with your zerglings, that way if they arent pro you'll get through somehow,

swarm with lings at choke might be a bit useful, cuz their dragoons wont do shit and they HAVE to waste their storms!

Oh another thing you can try is to main snipe them, their gas will go down exponentially and massing temps will be hard
also with your guardians snipe as many templars as you can!

maxed on guards and flank them so they cant get alot of guards per storm, while ur atacking maxed with guards u have to go mass lings+hydras so when they come to p's base he he has nothing already.

well if ur stupid enough to send all gaurds at once then its ur own fault.
normaly u send 5-6 gaurds to wipe out temps.
use some queens aswell broodlings.  or just ensnare the temps, they wont move fast enough while ur gaurds can micro their way out...

this has worked in the few games i've played but here it goes.
very late in the game when they have a choke with cannons and a shitload of temps hanging around do this:
mass up around 15-20 queens and build up 150 energy (dont forget ups)
then prepare all of your hatcheries with rallies into their choke.
get 2-3 defilers and mass ultra lings and ovies.
send your queens back a ways and send an ovy up front to get vision (this ovy will die) then que up all of your queens to broodling as many temps as you can.
after this he will be momentarily stunned without temps and (with swarm) his cannons and air will be useless.
mass his choke with ultra and ling and gg.

P.S.  this is a "Turtle Busting" technique that i use ZvP.  its pretty tight :)
P.S.S since this is Vanilla and there's no sairs ultra/ling should rape then hell out of them!! :) (make sure to have ovies for arbs tho.)

Don't let them get into a wide space, ie if you're Zerg, keep them at your choke.  This will minimize the effectiveness of templars because the fat dragoons will take up the space of where the templars need to get to storm.  Once they have broken into your base and have a wide space, you're pretty much done.
