Starcraft II System Requirements
The minimum system requirements for the Starcraft II Beta are as follows:

PC Minimum Requirements:
• Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
• 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
• 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
• 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
• 1024x768 minimum display resolution
• 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
• Broadband connection

*Note* the final requirements for Starcraft II have not yet been determined.  Due to ongoing development the minimum requirements listed above are subject to change at any time.  During this phase a Mac version will NOT be available, please check back.

Because it will overheat easier, system requirements are much higher so you'll have to pay more. Plus, the Beta isn't even on Macs yet, so it might not be released on Macs right away.

lol im playing beta on my shitty laptop with 1.8 ghz single core cpu, 2 gb ram shared memory video card.  It doesn't really lag that bad on lowest settings.  Cant really micro properly though

you probably have an integrated graphics card too.  Those are like the kiss of death when it comes to trying to play video games.

I have a 2.0 and it still works perfectly fine for me, My laptop doesn't heat up also but it does die fast whenever I play SC2 though.

yes, my video card is integrated :( ati radeon xpress 200m.  gg. It hasn't overheated yet though, and its not that laggy, so it will have to do until i finish building my desktop
