so i am always fighting some one in a 1vs1 and i get owned or whatever

i have Adv Loader so i check the guy's APM after the game and i find out it was like 50-60

where my APM was like 100-110

why do i always lose to dudes with signifigantly lower APM then me

*plz dont say "because you suck", which you probably will now that i told you not to say it, but it doesnt help me if you gimme a bullshit answer like that*

APM isn't a deciding factor when it comes to winning or losing.

thats the thing, i don't APM spam or anything

i train and build units and shit like that and end up with 100-110, but i still lose, when my micro, APM, Macro, economy are much ebtter then my opponents

That just means your strategy is failing. If you are doubling his execution, there must be something wrong with your approach. If you take the correct strategy, there is no way you can lose with 2 times as many actions as him.

Best advice i can give is just to turlte and mass drops, just like the other good players...

as I've gotten better, my apm has increased. There is definitely a relationship.

High APM is like steroids for a baseball player. Steroids aren't GUARANTEED to make you a great baseball player, but they sure as hell help.

If you are losing to someone with a 50-60 apm then obviously you are playing 1v1 completely wrong ^^ You need to develop different strategies / builds if that is the case. Watch replays of the best in VGT for help with that.

high apm just means you do more in a shorter time.. what actions you do though, are what decides the game. it also helps you adapt quicker to what your opponent is doing. Your losses just prove that he has a greater knowledge of the game, and he uses it more efficiently

High APM simply means you're capable of executing necessary actions at a high speed.. If you have shitty strategy or just spam buttons nonstop for high apm, you aren't gauranteed to win. It's only good if you use that speed properly, on essential clicks and hotkeys, not just worthless actions. If you have like 160 APM, AND you're a good player and can use that apm in a good way, you will definately fare better than someone with like 70 apm.

Ultimately it comes down to macro and timing and just executing better plays.

there are a couple things you could be doing wrong.

1) Strategy:
this will come with experience and concentration. watch how people beat you and why, and what strategies people use to win. If your opponent is terran and you're protoss, perhaps mass zealots aren't the best strategy against mass marines.

2) Economy:
if you're grossing money, it means you aren't playing hard enough. as a general rule, try not to break over 1,000 minerals until late game.

3) Strategy:
once again, there's probably some strategic part of the game that you're missing out on. Always know what your enemy is doing and what strategy they're using, then try to counter that.

as much as i dislike to say this russ is a kep example of a good low apm player...he hits low apms but has beaten alot of very good players you just have to out think your opponent

Honestly people always say to "watch the better players replays" but what they do not realise is that the better players all have 150+ APM and can pull of strats like that....not to mention it is very situational and it takes a certain sence of knowing when to go what.
