As I sit underneath the starry sky
I think about the days gone past
I think of who I caused to die
Hoping my sorrow doesn't last
The Terrans say we are bloodthirsty mutts
Perhaps they are right
They shoot at me causing great cuts
Perhaps that's why I fight
The ground races past beneath my feet
An explosion rattles the ground nearby
My outside burns with intense heat
Overhead my dead kin fly
Our first lines fall to a wave of metal fire
Infused by the Overminds power
My body never tires
Or turns to run and cower
Our second line is charred by burning fire
It can be expressed in simple words
We are bugs on a wire
While they are the flying birds
The ground beneath me grew bright
My kin beside me consumed by death
In a second my body took to flight
I landed with a chocked breath
Miraculously, I became aware
Aware of the pain
In time it came to bear
I don't know for how long I lain
When I awoke
I sat up and looked around
Then a voice spoke
"Hey look what I found!"
Around me gathered shiny Terrans of many size
One in white grinned and said
"I'll keep this as my prize."
And away was I led
We came to rest at a building of Terran craft
I was aware of no urge to kill
Gone was my tiny raft
A boat of the the Overmind's will
Suddenly I felt alone and cold
I was angry at the Overmind
My first feelings became to mold
I wished to kill my own kind
Surprised at these urges was I
To so boldly rebel against my maker
From my like would I be rejected
Would this Terran be my care taker?
